I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:36-40

Minister Melvin A, Washington

I was saved in 1980 when Jackie Ray Rose introduced me to Jesus. I’ve been saved for 40 years, and while I was fully committed from the start, it’s been a journey. My preaching style is rooted in love but doesn’t shy away from addressing wrongdoing. Preaching Jesus forms the foundation of my ministry. In a world where right is seen as wrong and good is viewed as evil, I write and perform gospel music, which has been my passion for decades. I’ve been a musician for 40 years and a songwriter for 50 years. Sometimes the lyrics come before the melody and vice versa. I’ve been married for 25 years to my wife, who is not only an ordained minister but also a professional gospel singer. I enjoy listening to music, playing golf, and drawing inspiration from figures like Pastor Terry K. Anderson and Bishop Dale Bronner.

Mission Statement

Melvin A. Ministries envisions a future of eternal life for every soul willing to give their life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He knows that Jesus loves us and wants everyone to join Him, although sadly, many will fall prey to false prophets. In a world full of false prophets and false prophecies, the beauty of His promise is that once someone gives their life to Jesus Christ and follows the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will equip them with protection against spiritual attacks meant to lead them away from salvation. Overcoming worldly challenges becomes a source of strength and empowerment through faith in Jesus Christ. Melvin A. Washington Ministries’ mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ far and wide, guiding His children to faith and obedience as saved souls in Christ. Repentance, giving one’s life to Jesus, becoming a new creation in Christ, and living out the purpose Jesus has given to all souls are at the heart of this ministry. Led only by the Holy Bible, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ—blessings to all, and welcome to the ministry.

"Baptism is a meaningful step in a believer’s journey with Jesus Christ, symbolizing new life through the use of water. In Acts 1:5, Jesus told them, “John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:41 shares that those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand people were added that day. In Acts 2:38, Peter urged, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Vision Statement

At Melvin A. Ministries, we are a Holy Bible-based ministry committed to living by the truth of the Word of God. Acknowledging that we all fall short of His glory, our mission is to prepare souls for salvation and the grace it brings, regardless of past sins. For those already saved but struggling with sin, we aim to help them realign with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit through repentance and restoration, guiding them back onto the path of righteousness. In all things, we give Jesus the glory. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 and “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

THE MINISTRIES' CORE VALUES

EMPOWERMENT

We believe in empowering souls to maintain or regain control of their lives by fostering self-confidence, resilience, repentance, and a sense of purpose through faith in Jesus Christ.

COMPASSION

We approach our work with deep empathy, understanding the unique challenges each soul faces in overcoming worldly ways that seek to separate them from Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Compassion is at the heart of what we do, creating a safe and supportive space to reflect on the past and repent, so they can be fully restored and become a new creation in Christ. Knowing that Jesus loves them and desires their salvation, no matter their past, inspires them to seek Him and embrace a new purpose and journey in life.

INCLUSIVITY

We welcome everyone who comes through our doors or reaches out to us. We recognize that every soul has a path to recovery through repentance to Jesus and obedience to Him and His Word. Our programs and services are designed to meet the individual needs and backgrounds of those we serve and minister to.

INTERGRITY

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in all our interactions through obedience to the Word of God. Transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct form the foundation of our relationships with souls, staff, and stakeholders.

COLLABORATION

We believe in the power of working together and actively partner with Bible-based community organizations, businesses, and individuals to expand the resources available to those we serve.

PERSONAL GROWTH

We are dedicated to encouraging ongoing growth by offering opportunities for skill building, education, and self-discovery. We trust in the potential for lifelong learning through a relationship with Christ.

RESPECT

We treat every person with dignity, kindness, and respect. Our goal is to nurture a culture of respect in all areas of our ministry, from engaging with participants to collaborating with community partners.

ACCOUNTABILITY

We hold ourselves and our ministry responsible to our mission and to those we serve. We strive to provide high-quality programs and services, track our impact, and continually improve to meet the changing needs of our community.

HOPE

We nurture hope by fostering an environment that believes in the unique strength and potential of every soul. Through our ministry, we aim to inspire optimism, resilience, and faith in the promise of a brighter future through Jesus.

COMMUNITY

We treasure the sense of community and Christian fellowship, knowing that supportive relationships are vital for sustaining faith in Jesus. Our ministry works to create a place where souls feel accepted, understood, and encouraged in their walk toward a devoted relationship with Christ.
